Music Monday

Monday, November 23, 2009

Man, another week gone already? That's ok, I was busy enjoying my sister, Patricia's, company. But for this week's Music Monday, I'd like to introduce you to a great guy named Joe Purdy.
You may have heard some of his songs on a Kia commercial (Just Can't Get It Right Today), Grey's Anatomy (The City), and my favorite, Lost (Wash Away). As usual, they're on my playlist.

Music Monday

Monday, November 16, 2009

I can't believe it's Monday again already...time flies. I haven't even posted anything else since last Monday...What the?! Anyhoo, on with the music...

One of my new favorite songs is Walking On A Dream, by Empire Of The Sun. It was the single of the week on iTunes awhile back. I honestly can't get enough of it...don't know why, just love it. It makes me feel good. :) The guys in the band are a little unique, but I still like it. You may have heard one of their other songs (We Are the People) on a recent Vizio commercial. That one's pretty good too, but my favorite is Walking On A Dream. Again, it's playing on my playlist, but here is the video if you want to check it out.

Music Monday

So, I'm starting a new thing...Music Monday. Some of you may know that I love music. I just can't get enough. I'm always trying to find new music to listen to. So every Monday, I'll share my love of music with you (we'll see if I can actually do it every Monday). :) You may, or may not like the tunes I share, but that's ok.

So, for my first entry on this beautiful Music Monday, I'd like to share a little tune by The Airborne Toxic Event called Something New. They've had a song on the radio (Sometime Around Midnight) which you might recognize. I like the different instruments they use and the feel of the music. If you're interested the album is on sale for $5 on Amazon.com right now. Both songs should be playing on my playlist, and if you want to see the video, click on the link below.

Apples? I Love Apples!

Monday, November 2, 2009

Last fall I really wanted to go pick apples...they just seem to taste better when you pick them yourself...However, that never happened. So, this year I wanted to make sure I did it. So, on the last weekend the U-pick place was open, I made it...Halloween day actually. :) Dave, Krystal and I drove out to good ol' Lynd's Fruit Farm. On the way out there, it seemed like we were driving forever so we thought we'd gone too far and we turned around, but good thing I had my nifty iphone to double-check because we were almost there when we turned around. So we turned around again and finally made it to the lovely grove of trees. When we got out of the car we could smell the deliciousness of the Fuji and Gold Rush apples...mouth-watering! Dave didn't know apple's had a smell...duh, Davey-Boy, duh.

Here's our apple picking team:
Stretch 'em N Fetch 'em Dave

Nonstop Photo Op Krystal
Snag 'em N Bag 'em Steph
I don't know what kind of birds they got out at Lynd's but they sure know how to lay 'em.
I used to think Dave was strong, but looks like our load of apples was a little too much for him.
All-in-all it was a good day. We were able to enjoy the fall air, pick a bunch of yum-apples, and even lucked out and got a gallon of $5 apple cider for 3 bucks! Can't beat a sale! Now I just need to figure out what I'm going to do with all these apples...Krystal, prepare for the Apple Crisp showdown!

I Love Lights

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

One of my new favorite artists is Lights. Her music is upbeat, she seems like a fun person, and she's cute. :) Her new album was just released this month and I like every song on it. You may have heard a couple of her songs on some Old Navy commercials awhile back. But, you should check her out to see if you like her too. Here's one of her videos...you can also check out her YouTube Channel

Aargh!!

Tuesday, October 27, 2009

So, I had my first indoor game of the season last night, and don't worry, rolled my other ankle...the right one this time. It hurt, but I was mostly mad that it happened again, aargh! I think I swore...oops, I'll have to repent for my foul language. Luckily, it wasn't as bad as when I rolled my left ankle. So hopefully I'll get better soon, since I've already paid to play.

No Bones?

Thursday, October 22, 2009

In this video, we were hiking in Hocking Hills last year. Josh and Dave were talking about how weird it'd be if you didn't have bones and what it'd look like when you walked. They didn't know I recorded them. :) The kid yelling at the end, we found out later, was looking for their lost sister...sad.
